The Cardinals are the perfect example of Superbowl burnout. After an appearance (and loss) in the 2009 Superbowl, the team went on a downward spiral. The first team to reach 700 losses since the team’s inception. How bad is that? Even the Browns don’t have it that bad. The only thing that seems to keep fans coming into their giant stadium is Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald is a wide receiver that deserves all the money he gets. He went with team loyalty over free agent money and a Superbowl ring. I haven’t seen that sort of commitment since Barry Sanders.

For me, the Cardinals will always be the first Angry Birds. They were the first bird team in the NFL. So by the time the Cardinals came up of course I had to make a reference to the bird emblem on their helmets. I made the little crest feathers by sweeping color towards my eyelids in random directions and sizes. I’m sure there are St. Louis, Louisville, and Ball State Cardinals fans that could use this play for their own games. For such a sweet bird it’s a popular sports mascot.
